As a Technology Specialist you will support the portfolio of HR technologies and provide ongoing production and project support. You will be responsible for configuration of various Workday modules to support Vanguard and you will work with our business partners to help implement projects and solve issues with technology.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports the HR technology project portfolio, including maintenance of existing applications various modules. Identifies, researches and dispositions ideas for process improvement.
  • Supports regularly scheduled application upgrade releases with Workday according to scheduled delivery timelines. Participates in testing efforts (e.g., regression testing) and approval for system elevations. Supports change management with HR business clients.
  • Understands Vanguard’s HR technologies, tools and applications across specific HR business areas.
  • Plans, manages and executes standard HR application configuration changes (e.g., workflow, rules, etc.) and works with HR PMO to maintain documentation for business process maps, workbooks, and procedures as needed to address business needs (defect remediation).
  • Supports CoEs, HRBPs, and Crew Central with all new technology / application implementations (e.g., new talent platform). Assess clients’ needs and objectives through planning and consultation sessions. Assists in requirements gathering, configuration, documentation, data loading and testing. Supports communication of progress, issues, and solutions to management and business project clients and stakeholders to obtain their input as appropriate.
  • Plans, manages and executes standard HR application configuration changes (e.g., workflow, rules, etc.) and works with HR PMO to maintain documentation for business process maps, workbooks, and procedures as needed to address business needs (defect remediation).
  • Stays current with new HR technology, trends and techniques. Attend user groups and participate in user based communities to learn and advance functionality. Assists with research and providing impact analysis to clients for new enhancements. Recommends direction and alternatives to achieve both long- and short-term objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • A minimum of two years progressive HR experience with a broad understanding of HR services preferred.
  • Understanding of the HR technology portfolio (Cognos/Workforce Analytics, Workday, Cornerstone, Salesforce.com, Varicent, etc.) and supporting technologies such as Sharepoint, Crewnet, etc. Experience in organizational transformation efforts and/or implementing programs with broad impact.
  • Experience in the development and deployment of HR technologies preferred
  • Understanding of risk, data governance and audit requirements
  • Proven teamwork capabilities. Experience translating business requirements into service operations. Experience working with design workflows and processes preferred.
  • Background in client focused operations.
  • Excellent facilitation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, with attention to details and sensitivity to deadlines.
