Job Description:

Are you a Tailings professional looking for a new role? If so, our Fort Hills Mine Site is looking for your expertise! In this role, you will provide a consistent interface between various groups to support the safe and efficient execution of the integrated tailings plan. You will also coordinate tailings operations, mine operations, primary extraction and tailings maintenance to ensure uninterrupted production while optimizing safety and production.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide early identification of risks and opportunities for immediate resolution to cross-functional teams and for incorporation into future planning
Prioritize work to ensure it is executed accurately and does not affect operations
Enter notifications, coordinating lockouts/isolations performed per control hazardous energy and permit to work (CHEPTW)
Participate in tailings short range planning process
Maintain alignment between area managers to ensure long term continuity and achievement of tailings objectives
Lead tailings operations stewardship by assisting in defining critical metrics and operations, maintenance, technical and reliability (OMTR) metrics
Measure and communicate shift-to-shift stewardship
Coordinate timely and on plan execution of migratory bird deterrent work
Participate in lock-out/tag-out audits

Job Requirements:

Exceptional knowledge of operations and oil sands materials handling
In-depth knowledge of standards, procedures, work practices and rules
Deep understanding of risk-based decision-making and risk management
Outstanding verbal and written communication and exceptional organizational skills with the ability to build strong, positive relationships amongst diverse groups
A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
