Job Description:

Qantas Superannuation Limited (QSL or the Trustee) is the corporate trustee of the Qantas Superannuation Plan (QSP or the Plan) and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qantas Airways Limited. The Plan was originally founded in 1939 and principally exists to provide superannuation products and services to Qantas employees. Today the Plan is one of the largest corporate superannuation funds in Australia, having around 30,000 members and $8 billion in assets under management as of August 2020. Qantas Super is a not for profit fund run for members, by members. Qantas Super’s purpose is to help members be confident in their financial future so they can enjoy retirement. As a corporate super fund, it is imperative that a level of extra care and personalization is provided to members, especially during those moments that really matter. Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer, the Company Secretary will be responsible for administering the affairs of QSL and managing the business of the Board. The role will also be responsible for effectively consulting with both internal and external parties, with a view to influencing actions.


Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a regulated industry (e.g., superannuation or a related industry
  • Relevant previous work experience, either for a public company, or a department of a major Australian corporate, or experience advising on company secretarial matters
  • A high level of personal accountability, honesty, and integrity
  • Satisfy fit and proper requirements under QSL’s Fit and Proper Policy
  • Must work collaboratively in a team, listen well, be tactful, yet also be able to communicate cogently, candidly, and constructively challenge
  • Proven time management skills and ability to work well under pressure within strict timeframes
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, with an eye for detail
  • Level of maturity necessary to liaise with Directors, Executive Management, and external parties including APRA and ASIC
  • Innovative thinking with a capacity to challenge conventional wisdom in a positive manner
