Job Responsibilities:

  • Support business partners with delivery of annual people programs, including compensation planning/review, workforce planning and performance/engagement programs.
  • Lead strategy on employee engagement/pulse strategy within market, providing advice to managers to identify, develop and implement action plans.
  • Conduct exit interviews to identify issues in the team/department and provide recommendation on action plans for improvement.
  • Support hiring managers to determine resourcing needs and develop the necessary information to support job leveling to prepare for hiring.
  • Support managers through coaching and performance management to assist in the creation/follow through of action plans and performance documentation
  • Provide coaching and advice on career development, recruitment practices, succession planning, compensation and performance management, diversity and inclusion and other HR practices.
  • In partnership with people practices, ensure compliance for all corporate policies and procedures, Union agreements, federal and provincial laws; ensure HR related matters are proactively researched and managed.
  • As required, lead and conduct investigations regarding violation of company standards of conduct.
  • Develop effective analytic reporting to communicate data and support decision-making. Identify trends and assists with analysis.
  • Validate and confirm that all HR administrative systems are correctly completed by managers, with appropriate approvals.
  • Prepare and administer termination notices and related documentation around termination of employment.
  • In partnership with benefits team, support Managers with accommodation request cases and follow up with internal/external partners on progression of each file, including return to work planning.
  • Partner with Total Rewards team to determine level of the position and applicable salary range
  • Communicate job leveling outcomes and facilitate escalations as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of Labour Law and employment equity regulations.
  • Personal responsibility to see issues through to resolution and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A minimum of 5+ years progressive generalist experience.
  • Broad HR knowledge and ability to facilitate the delivery of HR advisory services to the business.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational and conflict management skills.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, with an ability to multitasks in a dynamic and fast moving environment.
  • Sounds knowledge of HR best practices.
