You will be responsible for leading passionate and dedicated teams ensuring everything we do and every decision we make has our customers at the core.

Setting the standard and driving improvement are crucial to exploit every commercial opportunity. With a passion for delivering excellent standards at all times combined with continuously driving growth & profitability of the store or Foods section through successful implementation of the M&S retail plan.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Proven ability to lead a high performing Team Managers and Team Support Managers to deliver excellent customer service and KPI’s across the store, using all available data and MI (internal and external) to identify commercial opportunities, particularly through knowledge of the locality to increase profit.
  • Support the store to trade safely and legally, protecting Customers, Colleagues, and the M&S brand
  • Deliver an inspirational, improved, and consistent visual customer journey instore which inspires our customers to shop and buy more often.
  • Knowledge of our people policies and of driving and managing performance within the team.
  • Consistently demonstrates a customer-first mindset, role modelling correct behaviours and driving continuous improvement.
  • A team player who can communicate effectively and build strong relationships in order to work confidently alongside a strong, high performing commercial team.
  • A strong understanding of all operational principles as well as the ability to analyse and interpret a range of commercial M.I to support decision making to drive sales performance and a strong people policy and process knowledge.
  • The ability to work at pace in a pressurised store environment, with a passion for delivering exceptional results in a truly customer focused trading environment at a consistently high standard.
  • The resilience and confidence to drive and deliver cultural and behavioural change and develop at team of colleagues for the future.
  • Accountable for the in-store delivery of scorecard measures of performance and operational excellence through leveraging colleague capability, teamwork, and collaboration.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders across the Region and beyond to maximise all growth opportunities, execute fantastic events, drive conversion
  • Harness success through great relationships with your store team and Business Involvement Group
  • Continuously seeking opportunities to develop future talent through performance tools and development programmes

Job Requirements:

  • A super knowledge of Clothing and Home retailing.
  • Proven Leadership track record alongside the ability to lead effectively through ambiguity.
  • Good level of digital capability and a comprehensive understanding of systems and ability to exploit them.
  • The ability to have difficult conversations with effective resolutions with both colleagues and line managers.
  • The ability to juggling a number of priorities to an excellent standard with pace.
  • A desire to push boundaries and collaboratively make a difference.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to change, and the ability to lead teams through change with a growth mindset.
