Job Description:

Tesla is seeking a deeply process oriented, experienced, and self-driven Capacity Planner to support finished vehicle logistics. You will work cross-functionally with global supply chain, demand planning, and production planning for capacity planning of outbound logistics.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Issue statistical or detailed reporting for stakeholders as requested including operation efficiency improvement, cost reduction and capacity planning.
  • Develop strategies for cost effective capacity planning to support high volume production.
  • Pull data from internal database. Analyze, compile, and publish logistics dashboards and metrics for Tesla’s logistics leadership.
  • Collaborate with logistics leadership and the commercial team to establish strategic objectives for long term capacity planning.
  • Establishes operational procedures for outbound shipments from the factory and on-time/ delivery performance.
  • Collaborate with industrial engineers, business intelligence team and system development team regularly to initiate internal TMS improvements.
  • Manages and assess carrier’s performance and reports operational metrics (KPIs) to senior management, as well as any regulatory reporting requirements related to transportation and logistics activities.
  • Identify and define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and measure processes to ensure logistics operations are completed with excellence.
  • Facilitates and coordinates with logistics carriers regarding all aspects of outbound transport of finished vehicles in North America.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Self-driven initiative to gain and implement a broad knowledge of logistics best practices.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to achieve success in situations with high degrees of variation and complexity.
  • 2+ years experience in logistics, supply chain or related industry.
  • Demonstrated communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Desire to grow and take on increased scope of responsibility.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to code in SQL and Tableau and deep dive in data.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field or the equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously, have a strong drive – orientated on result.
  • Ability to write, speak, and present effectively and persuasively at all levels.
