Job Responsibilities:

  • The Contract Management System (CMS) is a vital tool for our market teams managing Train Operating Contracts (TOC).
  • The system tracks contractual compliances and is a communication tool.
  • You will play a vital role in ensuring the Department’s CMS system provides user focused processes, data management, communication and is value for money.
  • You will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of CMS, a digital contract management system provided by an external supplier.
  • You will work with and manage relationships with system users in our Market Teams and Train Operating Companies to effectively use the system.
  • You will carry out the day-to-day administration for the team, handle user queries, and onboard and train system users.
  • You will also have the opportunity to be involved in contract management of and tasking of our external supplier, and the continuous improvement of the system.
  • Working closely with the external supplier to ensure quality of delivery
  • Developing and maintaining key relationships with the CMS supplier and users
  • Delivering teach-ins and training sessions with users both remotely and face to face, both 1:1 and presenting to bigger groups.
  • Investigating issues, analysing needs and providing solutions and improvements

Job Requirements:

  • You will be highly motivated and enjoy proactively taking the initiative to resolve problems and successfully deliver tasks against deadlines.
  • You will demonstrate good judgement to carefully handle commercially sensitive information and understand how it is used and reported. You will display a good understanding of Microsoft Excel and be keen to advance these skills.
  • You will display excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills to forge positive relationships with internal teams, train operators and across the
  • Department. You will be comfortable presenting training sessions to individuals and groups.
  • Once in role, you will be required to complete the Contract Management Capability Programme (CMCP) and achieve the accreditation at Foundation level.
  • You will have previous experience of contributing to the continual improvement of a process by identifying practical steps to improve quality.
